§ 2-5. Expenditure of county funds in connection with art contest to obtain art or other graphic images for use in official county publications.

  • (a)

    Certain expenditures authorized.

    (1)

    The board of county commissioners may provide for the expenditure of county funds for awards or prizes in connection with a contest open to school students in which a committee of staff chosen by the county administrator or designee adopts contest rules fair to any and all elementary or secondary school students in the county and selects the best work from contest entries, where the purpose of choosing the best work is to obtain art or other graphic images for use in connection with official county publications.

    (2)

    Expenditures under this section shall be reviewed and approved by the county administrator or designee, in addition to review and approval by any other official as may be required by statute.

    (b)

    Declaration of county purpose. The expenditures authorized herein are hereby declared to be a county purpose in the common interest of the citizens of the county.
