§ 20-60. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases used in this article shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Gross vehicle weight (GVW):

    (1)

    The weight of the vehicle without load plus the weight of any load thereon.

    (2)

    The weight of any single axle, tandem axle, or axle group of a vehicle or combination of vehicles plus the weight of any load thereon.

    Trucks: Vehicles that have any of the following characteristics:

    (1)

    Gross vehicle weight (GVW) a rating of fifteen thousand (15,000) pounds or more;

    (2)

    Triaxles or any greater number of axles;

    (3)

    Tractor or tandem vehicles whether or not pulling semi-trailers or tandem semi-trailers.
